What does an employee representative do?

Employee representatives represent the views of the workforce, they cascade information on company plans, and development initiatives to the workforce and in turn pass the views and feelings from the workforce to senior leaders and cascade business.

They have a pivotal role in sharing information, providing reassurance and technical guidance to the workforce.

They often have to cascade difficult messages and pacify staff who are angry and/or upset at company plans and inititatives.

In non union companies they take on union type duties in collective consultation situations, especially those relating to redundancy, TUPE and changes to employee contracts and working conditions
